We have great news for all landline phone owners affected by phone spam. We are pleased to announce that we have developed a new product together with Gigaset Communications AG that offers every home a secure telephone experience: The Gigaset CL690A SCB telephone with tellows call protection.

The Gigaset CL690A SCB offers the latest developments that a landline phone can have. In addition to making calls and sending messages, the phone features a modern colour OLED display, an intuitive navigation menu, three integrated answering machines, date and time information, news, weather updates and the QuickSync contact management option. What makes the phone unique is the integrated tellows call protection. Each phone includes caller identification and call blocking software. Activation is required only once. The phone then receives daily updates with currently reported spam numbers and offers protection against unwanted callers.

Gigaset CL690A SCB

Aggressive advertising, annoying opinion polls or ping calls are a thing of the past. The database is constantly expanding thanks to the tellows community that reports phone numbers on tellows. This means that users always receive up-to-date information through an intelligent cloud-based service. With the Gigaset CL690A SCB, users specify which protection they want to activate in their phone settings. Caller identification, blocking or mute of unwanted calls is possible. In the case of incoming calls, the user is shown the caller’s category and the tellows score, which are quickly easy to understand in the respective signal colours and reflect gravity (white – unknown, green – safe, yellow – neutral, red – dangerous). This way users can quickly decide whether or not to answer the call.

Functionality at a glance

  • Immediately identify who is calling you:

We have improved Caller ID, so that the spam numbers are immediately detected through the tellows app; the tellows score will be always shown on the screen of our mobile phone and, in addition to the rating, you will also be able to find out the name of the caller, the type of call and from which location it phones. You will have all the information you need, so you can decide whether or not to answer calls!

  • Find any number and info on callers:

With over 180.000 reviews per day, you can find out who is bothering you in no time. Thanks to your reports, our database is constantly updated and over time it has become a big world family. New countries and new languages are available in the application, no scammers or call centers around the globe will have a chance!

  • Evaluate and comment on phone numbers:

Commenting and evaluating is now easier and more immediate, in order that you can help us in our mission against telephone scams; just connect to your account and enter in the tellows world from all devices in a simple and free way. It is not required to leave a comment anymore when rating a number which makes it faster to evaluate unknown numbers. Your negative rated numbers are also on your personalized blacklist and can be blocked with premium.

  • Call barring and Blacklist customized with Premium:

In the Premium version, all dangerous numbers rated by you, are saved on your phone and can be blocked even in offline mode. All is possible thanks to the black list stored and updated locally and also use it without any advertising.

We could not be more proud of our product, but without your support and the trust that you give us every day, we would not have made the giant steps we have taken so far: you, our community tellows, are the beating heart of our app!

Facebooktwitterredditpinteresttumblrmail

Dear tellows fellows,

We are happy to announce that tellows has released a new update of our Caller ID & Block App for iPhone with brand new features! In the new version, it’s now even easier for you to protect yourself from nuisance calls. As you probably already know, the tellows app can help you to find information of telephone numbers all over the world. We have finally created new features, such as free real-time identification and automatic update of the caller ID, so you can enjoy even more benefits, free of charge! So which are the new advantages you can get after the new update? Check it out below!

  1. tellows Score Display on Incoming Calls

The so-called Lite version of the tellows protection, which is the free version where users won’t be charged at all, now offers automatic identification on any incoming calls. The tellows score will be displayed on the incoming call, indicating the potential risk of the call. The score 1 means that the number is trustworthy, whereas score above 7 refers to potential risk of the number. With this new feature, it’s even easier for users to decide whether they should pick up a call and whether the number is possibly dangerous or not.

  1. More scores – more details!

From now, your phone will not only identify dangerous calls. You will also benefit from information of positive rated numbers, such as trustworthy companies or service hotlines. The new app version will identify numbers from score 1 to 9 to provide you with more information for better security.

French University Project with tellows API

Facebooktwitterredditpinteresttumblrmail

Dear tellows fellows,

tellows is versatile and the tellows data can be used for different systems. We developed an API that suits all kinds of projects and allows you to access the database and use the number details as preferred.

Today, we want to introduce a student project from the UPMC University in Paris, which was realized with the help of the tellows API.
For the students, the task was to build an Android App with an API. The idea was to develop a caller ID that identifies French numbers and shows whether a number is dangerous or trustworthy. With the help of our API, they managed to build the App in just a few weeks. As soon as a call comes in, it shows the respective tellows score that indicates if the number is dangerous or not. Opening the app, it will show a list of all recently received calls. Furthermore, it displays the number, score and country.

The final result was presented within the class and turned out successful. We are happy that we could be part of it and help to realize the project. However, a publication of the application is not possible.

tellows is happy to collaborate with companies and developers to create projects for commercial or research purposes. The collaborations are broad. For example, we have been working together with an organization but also with other Apps

tellows App for iPhone – New Login Feature and Personal Blacklist

Facebooktwitterredditpinteresttumblrmail

Dear tellows fellows,

We have good news! A new tellows iPhone version  for “tellows Caller ID & Blocker” is available in the App store: 1.4.0! The app works for all devices using iOS 10 or higher.

Version 1.4.0 comes with an improved protection from unwanted phone calls, thanks to some new features. You have the ability to log in to your own tellows account and easily access it from multiple devices. You can also edit your account settings and posted comments, when you log in to tellows in the web browser.

Additionally, you can now create your personal blacklist and add unwanted numbers that are not yet rated or don’t appear in the blacklist. If you rate a number negatively, it will be added to your personal blacklist and will be blocked the next time you receive a call. Even if the overall rating assigned by other tellows users of the phone number is different, it will still be blocked. You must be logged in to use this feature and synchronize your personal blacklist with your device. You can use your one personal blacklist across all devices and tellows products.

New iPhone App Cooperation – Caller ID & Blocker with #SCB

Facebooktwitterredditpinteresttumblrmail
Dear tellows users,

we are happy to announce a partnership with the app developer Sergey Smirnov. He developed the iPhone app #SCB • Caller ID & Blocker to identify and block unwanted calls. Additionally you can put numbers on a personal black- or whitelist. The app also allows you to filter and block incoming SMS messages.

The #SCB app uses the tellows database to identify unknown numbers. Therefore spam numbers like robocalls, telemarketers and advertising can be identified before the user picks up the phone and saves you lots of time. If you have been bothered by a number that has not been reported, you can add it to your blacklist and report it to warn others about this number as well.
